With the economy the way it is and the political climate being tender, Obama should have used a little more care in his choice of where to have Christmas. This move put him in the elite upper crust having a vacation like this which 99+% of the people in this country will never have. He claims that he is for the working class and the middle class and etc. Well his example just screwed that. He now is viewed as an elite who will stoop down to help the lower class just like the Kennedy's. I just hope that he is clean of all the corruption that is being exposed in Chicago at this time. It would be amazing if he is totally clean. If he is, it would add a lot of credit to his reputation.

I did not vote for him but I will give him a chance. So far he is not doing too well with the people he is selecting. I told a friend who was so excited about the coming change that the only change I suspected would occur would be a shift from Republican dogma to Democratic dogma. He said "no there would be real change". To me real change does not appear to be happening, at least so far. I believe I am correct on the shift. The Clinton White House appears to be coming back (the same players will give you the same results). Sort of expecting the results to be different when you keep doing it the same way (definition of insanity).

I do believe that the American people want real change. I do not believe that either party has gotten that message yet. I am not a party man and never will be. I look at the person and what they bring to the table and vote accordingly. So far I see both parties as stuck and mired in their own dogma so badly that they can't see beyond their own nose. They are not willing to work with anybody that does not agree with them (except for rare individuals). The only way we are going to get out of this mess is to work together.

I look at the auto industry, they come begging for money thinking it would be handed out like candy. Neither the companies nor the unions were expecting to have to give up something or have a plan. When times are lean, both the companies and unions have to give up things, change their plans and course of action just like every household in this country is giving things up to make it through the tough times. The UAW just went down a couple of notches as did GM and Chrysler.

Sorry nothing is guaranteed in this world. It is not our father's world. Things have changed. Some for the better some for the worse. But we are generally much better off than we were when I grew up in the 50s and 60s. That is if you count possessions as being better off. People have more toys and things than they did back then and are indebted to monthly payments that they have no idea what things are really costing them nor do the retailers want them to know as they will stop buying. But a lot of people have seemed to have traded the nuclear family and relationships for these toys (look at the kids sitting in a group of people texting others and totally ignoring the people around them).
