Speaking of farming I was raised on a 200 acre veg. farm in CT. just 50 miles east of NYC. the last one of that size in CT.
We had 5 -- 150' greenhouses and planted
tomatos --30,000
peppers --25,000
eggplant --10,000
We'd pick 10,000 ears of corn 4-6 guys by hand for Sept. (labor day).
We raised our own pigs and made our own sausage, bacon etc. Bought live Steer to slaughter.
Just like back in the old PW days except in it was in the 70's to the late 90's
