I have a "Mopar model 65 Truck Master" heater, that undoubtedly has a 6 volt fan motor. Somebody put a dropping resistor in when the converted the Sno-Cat to 12 volts. The heater barely does anything on 6 volts. With 12 volts, it actually manages to push a little bit of air out of the defroster vents (only a little, but that's more than at 6 volts). My question is does anyone have experience running an old 6 volt heater on 12 volts for any length of time? It's obviously not very good for it, and it'll wear out the brushes faster, but will it overheat or burn up? It's sure be nice to have some actual heat.
