The heat shield belongs on all the dodges civilian and military.
They all left the factory with shields.
I have also seen were electric pumps did not cure vapor lock in all cases.
Move the fuel line away from the exhaust manifold to close as possible to the inner fender,and vapor lock goes away if the rest of the original fuel system is in good working condition.
