Looks like the pilot stayed with it until the last second trying to make another 50 yards. If he had, the plane would have had another two miles of empty space to crash in- Miramar NAS, and the city dump.

Saturday night I was at a party about a mile from today's crash, with 4-5 retired USN aviators. This is not the first crash here.
