This is a complete unit not meant to be taken apart. The unit number is CC# 1189715 and comes with the carrier, belt pulley gear, bearings. You would have to drive the gear against the big plug, but the plug is not available by itself, so you run the risk of destroying the plug. If he plans to do that, I would check with a Ford tractor company for any plugs that size since they have simular units. Otherwise I would clean the unit and reassmble and forget any further disassembly of it, unless it has a failed bearing.
