The diesel version of the Tiny Tach uses a transducer on a injection line for input signal. Tach reading is just as fast as a needle type tach. I woudl not want it for a driving tach, but under the hood for engine hours, peak RPM achieved, etc, its a nice add on. When the battery finally dies, Off to the operating room it goes. LOL
