Bitten by the Flat Fender bug

I bought a '63FFPW rolling frame and cab with the intention of putting under a '59 D200. I have since found a really rusty '53 FFPW with a blown motor. I understand the cabs are interchangable but my question is the gauges from the '53 are on either side of the speedo, the '63 were (missing now) in the center of the dash. does it matter where they go? I'd like to go 12 volt, any suggestions.
