My little vent was directed at that which I have no control over - Detroit's bad decisions. I would have very little effect in getting them to make better decisions. Their decisions are driven by profit. Which is really a good thing in a free market, right?

The rest of the bad decisions that you point out, those made by the government, I have direct control over by how I vote. So yes, I am sleeping in the bed that I made, as are the rest of us. If we voted, by doing so we had a hand in making these bad decisions. Those who did not vote, also had a hand in making those same bad decisions simply by not letting their voice be heard.

So yes, I agree. We are all part of the process and we are all victims of our own actions. As voters, we allowed these political fiasco's to happen. Non voters also bear an equal responsibility for what has transpired. Their silence is as deafening as the noise from the voters.

So now that I have come to the verge of getting off topic, I will get to my point. We have had choices - this choice, that choice, or the choice to not to choose. In many cases, I have seen any one of the three as being equally as bad as the others. I have also seen some very good choices get prematurely eliminated during Primary Elections. That is kind of like throwing out the baby with the bath water.

In the spirit of breaking everything down to 2 choices (3 if you include the choice of not choosing), a final question - What is more important:

1) Trying to buy friends by sending our financial help to foreign governments?

2) Trying to support our family of companies and institutions by providing financial help right here?

Narrowing it down to 2 choices really does suck!
