That is exactly the problem. The spacer idea is doable to get the hose fitting away from the cover to run the small hose to the w/p.

I saved your photopage - they are immensely helpful to me swapping the 230 to a 360/mech bell/NP435. I have a NP435 hydraulic clutch setup with Chelsea PTO - but am going with a mechanical setup to shorten the bellhousing/input shaft 1.5" to run a mechanical fan in a M37. I choose the mech route after watching a fellow M37 owner struggle using the 318 poly bellhousing. The PW seems to have a little more length to work with than the M37.
