Thanks Tom. I was just testing the waters a bit before jumping. As far as I've been able to tell, there is NO interchangeability of axle shafts between M-series and Civilian PW. The overall axle length of the M is shorter. Vintage sent me a short front shaft once and it was 3/8" or so too long.
I will likely be building custom shafts...no point in installing good stock axle shafts just to break them.
