The best professionals have the initiative to cross reference and find any part without the support of the Vin or part number.
It's what a quality, customer oriented, parts man does.
Yes it's EASIER with the number but a GOOD parts man will go the extra mile to help his customer find the part. Some have spent many a minute with me trying to find a part that is no longer in the numbering system, sometimes we get lucky. Some parts men (in this case a woman) had some of the old numbers memorized and didn't need the computer...= )
Customer service, with a smile, is always appreciated.
