I'm not sure if there was a rubber slab under the rad support. But I did shim mine about 3/8" with two layers of 3/16" steel. Plus I've shimmed the body up with 1/2" thick aluminum spacers and fender washers- those oversize discs. I've got it all a little finger's width from the frame. It has really quieted it down.

And yes, same spacing at the fender bracket/shock mount. In fact, I can see worn places on the fender bracket from the last 50 years of rubbing there. And my frame has grooves in it from 50 years of the cab rubbing at the lip around the floor board cut out. So I'm pretty sure that my truck is quieter than it was the day it drove out of the San Leandro factory.

No problem with anything else aligning with the spacers in. Fenders fit, who would notice a gap at the cab/running boards? Or the bed/cab? Actually, the foot pedal fit in there holes pretty good/better than most.
