According to the US Census Bureau the current population of the USA is 305,582,720, and in 2006 24.6% of the population was under 18. That means that about (not taking into account felons, etc) 229,187,040 people could have voted last night. It looks like about half of those people voted, which is not that great.

So as with many other elections, a small percentage of 1/2 of the population that can vote could have swayed this one way or the other.

As always I am disappointed to only see about 50% of the people who could have voted vote. I would like to see more, anything over 80% would be great to see.

Eric
