If you're in back country, all should be good. There may be issues with chemicals used in agriculture that may contaminate, but there are ways to balance that out until the pond is established. Once established, it should cycle itself out each year, but you may need to add somthing on occasion to keep acid/Ph on the level. If you are doing this in my part of the country (NJ) it would become an EPA Superfund Site, and you wouln't be allowed to fish in it!
