On a flatfender power wagon's sheet metal, I think the only part on the fender that is really difficult to fix/replace dent wise is the outer radius on the fenders that has the steel wire incorporated in the seam.
The town wagon's fenders are made differently. I have seen pics where folks cut off the wheel well section and weld in a "new" radius from a 2WD truck.
I would find a different shop, perhaps one with an older guy that has worked on the older trucks with the type steel in them as Glen says. The thick steel is more forgiving than what is in new vehicles..."thin" steel.
Also, Ron from Indiana on this forum is very knowledgeable about fixing sheet metal on Town Wagons, maybe he will post?
