I shared a frame number image a few years ago on the Pilot House forum, and soon after that image showed up on the link below. I never got an E-mail or anything from the webmaster. At least that is a frame for some of the trucks the page is written for, though it is only correct for the smaller trucks built in Detroit.

I also had someone take my HTML from one of my sites detailing the VIN numbers of 1957-60 Dodge trucks, and just use it like it was theirs. The worst part about that one was they used some weird HTML editor to change the colors and links (the rest was exactly my pages, mistakes and all), and the display was all screwed up. So not only did they take my content, but they made it nearly unreadable.

I try very hard to at least thank the people via E-mail that shared images with me for pages I have written. Or if I felt it worked with the page I gave them credit below the image.

Maybe I am not accepting the sharing nature of the web enough, and I am taking it too seriously. I should be happy that people like my images, and they are using them to help others. But I still would like to be acknowledged I guess.

I have also spent a lot of time figuring out lots of changes Dodge made over the years, and I am sad to see someone use my images and label them incorrectly for their application. I get worked up about people having bad data out there, and the possibility of others trying to use it for the wrong application. As I said that is most of what bothered me.

Sorry to have gone off, I should have just noted the correct application, and asked you who ran that page so they could be fixed.

Eric
