I had a '64 crewcab W200 with the big knuckle 3500 lb. Dana 60 front axle. I had the bearing caps drilled and tapped for grease fittings so I could easily lubricate the cone bushings at each lubrication interval. The machine shop did not appreciate me bring this job into them. These parts are VERY hard and they ruined several VERY expensive drill bits and taps in the process.
