Far be it from me to advise anyone about investments, but I need to tell you this, because we are all part of an extended family:
A friend recently foresaw what was going to happen to the economy, and he advised me to get out of the investments I was in, and to get into two stocks. They have been gaining and losing over the last three days (and have been doing that, less dramatically, over the last year)
I am not telling anyone to buy or sell anything, and I am not responsible if you screw up. That said, watch these two:
GLD and USO.
GLD is based on gold reserves in Europe, not based on speculative mining, and USO is based on the profits from a pipeline company that gets its income from all the suppliers who transport oil across the country.
One goes up, the other falls, and vice versa. So far, I haven't lost, and I haven't gained. This week, I consider that a good thing.
