Last week, my 47 popped the bottom radiator hose and I probably was with out water for 5 minutes. The truck drove and ran normally. The only way I know, was I stopped to cross a roar and did an instrument check and saw the temp gauge on hot. I shut it down, waited for it to cool, then put on a new hose and drove it home, it seemed to start and run normally. Yesterday was the first day I had gotten it out again. It started and ran fine, but now backfires going down will. Could I have a stuck exaust valve from when it overheated?? I have not done a compression check yet. I hope I didn't screw-up the old girl, I just got her new Historical Vehicle plates in the mail. Robert N.
