Having just been through something like this, I'm betting your fuel line got clogged by some rust flakes or something that was at the bottom of the tank, and got sucked into the fuel line when you ran dry. You can try running the fuel pump with one hose disconnected and see if it pumps anything, or pull the hose off the other side of the pump and stick it in a bottle of gas (temporary gas tank). If that works, then it's somewhere in the fuel line.
