So I had to drill new holes through the boards and cross members. But maybe I had some other mis-alignment too? MY bed was severely fubared- I had to weld on pipes to replace the top rails, and patch about 6 holes in each side. And remove post pockets for rework. It's just occurred to me now that, since I only had to drill the rear post holes, perhaps the rear valance-to-pockets was my major mis-aligment? But I had to torture the fenders to get them bolted on also... but then my fenders needed excesive re-working too- patches, removal of brackets, re-rivet after much hammer and anvil work.

Rust bucket, but only $1,000 going in, for good mechanicals- fresh engine, tight diffs, good clutch, tight spring bushings, etc. "New" GI windshield frame too. Only major replacements were head board, cab, and found an ebay radiator for $50. Having done all the labor myself, still have $9,000 in parts/materials.
