I'm less than 1/2 mile from the Des Plaines River as the crow flys, but it's all downhill from me. WHEW! Ya read about the record at O'Hare yesterday didn't ya?
Last week we got hit twice with 5" rainfalls in 24 hours, so the ground is real saturated now. I haven't seen it this bad ever.
We have several corporate parks surrounding us & most of their retenion ponds are overflowing & turning the streets into rivers.
I usually take flood pictures after these storms & keep track of em. Wow, the sump pit only take 2 minutes to refill.
