The local dealer will not stock the part because the vehicles have been out of production by Chrysler, and parts no longer made, unless used on later vehicles. An example is the transmission shift lever knob. That knob is used today on new vehicles the same as it was in the 30’s and is the same style and is available through your dealer. There are a lot of dealers that hold onto their NOS inventory, verses selling it out for 10 cents on the dollar. Chrysler has the capability to search all dealer inventories for a part. You simply take the part number to your dealer and ask them to do a parts locator. If any dealer in the U.S. or Hawaii has the part in inventory, the search will return that information. A good parts man will also check to see if the number has been superseded by a later number and search on both.
