Sorry this is kind of off topic, but looking for advice. I need a truck to haul my 48B1PW, which with trailer, I figure will push 8200#. Looking at 2001 Dodge 2500 Quad cab 4x4, short wheel base, with Cummins diesel, auto tranny. Heavy towing will be about 5-6 times per year. Does anyone have recommendations on 3.55 vs. 4.10 rears? With the extra price of Cummins, I would like good gas mileage, but some of my towing will be in hilly areas, and I don't want to sacrifice too much power. Does anyone know the gas mileage difference between the rears with no load? Thanks for any help.
