I have done some digging as far as the History of the Name "Power Wagon" goes. I have found out that when Dodge named the Power Wagon after a Trade magazine of the era for the trucking industry that was called 'Power Wagon' Dodge had mainly developed the early Power Wagon for use as a farm truck ,and before the name Power Wagon was finalized they were thinking of calling our beloved trucks 'Farm utility trucks'

Try to envision a '78 W-150 with the words on the side of the hood 'Farm Utility'

My 0.02 worth on the Controversy over the name Power Wagon, Seeing that the Dodge Power Wagon books out there (ones by Don Bunn and Monty Montgomery) Cover Dodge 4X4 trucks from 1940-1980 I would classify those all as Power Wagons..Even the WWII trucks and M-37. Then in 1981 they went to the Power Ram name.
