Shaft is not limited to a press fit, can be easily driven out by a hammer and brass rod, but also can be pressed in and out. Check with a machinist, I think you'll find the cost to shim up between $150-200. For alignment reasons, they may not be willing to do only one side of that case. Also the shims put in place should be thick enough to be tac welded or you run the risk of them spinning in the case under on load on the PTO. If think you’ll find a NOS case or good used PTO the better way to go.
