Why turn them ? The books say turn only when out of round or when bell mouthed.
Nothing is said re: grooves ( they should still be round, should't they ?)
I've never seen a shop that could even measure bell mouth
Out of round you'll feel as a pulsing pedal.
Does the guy condeming you old parts even have a spec sheet on that old iron?
or is he assuming that .060 is a standard ( it aint - some go 090, some are 1/16 over to begin with
Most shops turn everything til it needs replacing.
In california we couldn't find any law making it " illegal" to run over size drums.
The only proviso is 'standard of the industry'- what everbody else does.
Were they working when last run? Why not put them back on?

any body out there got service limits (G.I. or Dodge )??
