Just in case there is someone who hasn't figured it out yet,here is a helpful hint for manual steering.Never try to turn your wheels sitting still(if possible).I had always had pwr steering before my PW and worked my arms out the first couple weeks using the wrong method to steer it.Then I commented to a elderly friend that I was afraid I was wearing out the steering gearbox because of all the torque I had to use on it.Thats when he taught me the manual steering art of "fractional movement" If you apply effort as you ease out the clutch and allow fractional movement the effort is cut in half.Even when you need to seemingly turn the wheels sharply in place the same method can be used with a slight rocking motion.I know it sounds elimentry to most but it was a blessing in my beginnings.
