Concerning Dodge/Tucker Half Track

I was thinking about the earlier discussion of putting Tucker pontoos under an old style Power Wagon/WC, and it might not be so hard to do, even with the gear ratios and such. Consider this..

The front drive axle could have either 5.83, 4.89, or 4.33(?) ratios in it, with a wide variety of tire sizes from 7.50-16s to 11.00-16s, which would give quite a number of variations as far as rolling radius/gear ratio combos. The Tucker rear end has 2.33s I believe, but consider that the rolling radius is not the diameter of the track, but the pitch diameter of the drive sprocket.

If you divide the pitch diameter of the Tucker sprocket by 2.33, you get a raw number which you can compare to the rolling radius/gear ratio possibilities of the front axle. It might be that suitable combination could be found.

Just a thought. I am not a heretic! Greg
