Fred;I was looking at the reprint of D-18503 by Industrial Products Co.( John Z.)extra info on page 79.It listed the roof mounted raido as only being supplied only in 1956. I have some copies on sales material(bad photocopies) but DMA 3115 90M,no year listed,says that a roof mounted raido is offered as an option.This lists both the Power Wagon and the 2 Ton HW Model;it's first year of production I belive. This looks like it became the W500 very shortly.(An aside) This sales pamphlet might be 1956 as I don't know the first year of the HW Model but, DMA 3843 8-20 1958 also but my copies are so bad I can't tell if this was only for the "new W Series" trucks or all models
