Thought I might just wade into these muddy waters and see what else could be stirred up. I have seen several W500's go at auction over the years, from a low of $350 for a parts truck, to a high of $7500 for a nice one that a guy planned to plow snow with. I, for one, really enjoy my W500 and would not consider parting with it for less than $10K, which is far above its probable market value. As with any potential collectable, it is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. The best advise anyone ever gave me, years ago, concerning these old trucks was to only buy what I liked for what I wanted to pay, not what I thought it may be worth to someone else.
