The 265 rods have a very odd sloped head on the rod bolts (helps clearance) otherwise look the same as 251 rods. I did not have any clearance problems on the block (comes real close to the cam!) I have been told my several that the blocks are the same on 251 and 265. Check the pan for clearance though. I had to hammer mine a bit, but I was converting a rear sump pan to front sump-turned it around and beat on it. I went to .040 over to keep the block rebuildable, didn't look for BIG pistons. I'll be silent for a month, as I'm headed for Europe today, ask me more in October. Rob
