another way using fred's method is to use a piece of string
and a small weight (lug nut). tie the weight to one end of
the string and tape the other end to the drive shaft. jack
one tire up, mark with chalk, and rotate 2 times. count the
number of wraps of the string. again almost 5 wraps = 4.89
almost 6 = 5.83. easier than trying to count while spinning
the tire.
