Thanks for the casting # Bob, thats real handy to have.To set the record straight I haven't done the conversion, but I know from an old man thats a friend a little about them. I doubt the block is different, but maybe Bob knows. I've seen pistons up to .060 over before but I think the blocks pretty thick and before I build mine, I want to get the cyl wall thickness checked with a sonic device. Better machine shops have them for checking race blocks.Then if you go with custom pistons you can get the compression ratio of your choice. Also if its possible to build the engine with some (quench) the piston basically squishing the air fuel mixture, and coating the piston tops and valves, you might be able to run compression up to 9.0 to 1. Just my guess of course no actual data.Also with the custom piston you would loose a ton of weight, which will help engine rpm,bearing life and power.Sorry to go on so long I'm getting a life next week!
