Thanks. It is always helpful to learn about B&B carbs, even if they were not used on WC 3/4 ton military Dodge trucks - according to SNL G-657 "Master Parts List" - and are not relevant to this thread.

Bill was very specific saying he was working on a Carter carb.

Because I am trying to help, I repeat my response to Bill's post, and cite TM 9-808, 3/4 ton 4x4 Truck (Dodge) Paragraph 70. CARBURETOR AND GOVERNOR. a. Throttle Stop Screw and Idling Adjustments.

That reference says, "The idle adjusting screw controls the mixture of air and fuel used for closed throttle operation. ... On the Zenith carburetor, turn the idle adjusting screw clockwise to make a richer mixture of fuel or counterclockwise to make a leaner mixture of fuel. On the Carter carburetor, turn screw counterclockwise for richer mixture; clockwise for leaner mixture.”
