Ken,
The first thing you have to doing a project is to NOT care what others think of your project. You'll NEVER please everyone and why would you want to? They aren't putting in the time or paying the bills.
The Power Wagon community is one of the most diverse groups out there. You have the numbers matching restoring crowd, the bone stock original lovers, the everyday users, the upgraders, and the mud/rock runners. I tend appreciate them all and TRY not to judge others take on them. Some are very vocal about it and I've noticed those are the ones who get the most upset when someone challenges "their" view of what's right. I have a hard time justify those throwing them into trees though.
I'm painting on mine now and with the amount of time I've put in I probably won't be doing the mud bog thing. Total modified but the next one in the line up will be a basically stocker(except for brake upgrade)
Bottom line is do what you enjoy as you said. If your in this hobby for the money your in the wrong place.
I TOTALLY agree with on the therapy thing. I'll take fixing a part and getting one piece done ANY day over getting the high score on the latest video game. Kevin
