If it is a 2nd series bed then the bedsides were only used from 1951-55 or early 1956.

There are two versions, the early ones with the bed wood all the way to the tailgate, and the late ones that have the bed wood ending a couple of inches before the tailgate.

I think the bedsides interchange, but I have not tried it. My casual observation makes me think the main difference is the rear valance or cross member under the tailgate.
