The price, around $12/gal delivered if I buy 8 gallons, is what caught my interest, but it's just as hard to prep and apply cheap paint as good paint, and if this stuff comes loose it was no bargain. I expect the good stuff (real epoxy) is running closer to $40/gal these days. I don't have moisture coming up through the floor. It's a basement of a building that was built in 1915 and it simply wasn't poured and finished to be anything more than a space to run the pipes and store things. I would clean and patch the crumbling parts with thinset, or topping mix with acrylic added, before painting it. At this point, I'm inclined to pass on that bargain partly because I don't feel like moving everything I'd have to move to paint the whole floor, and I can patch the crumbling parts that are out in the open even if I don't paint over them. It would be nice to get rid of the dust, but probably not worth the trouble of painting it at this point. I've already spilled oil on some parts, so the paint would never be good there anyway.
