I bought this truck from a middle aged gentleman in Kentucky about 4 years ago. He acquired it from the Southern most part of Indiana. Both previous owners had done some work to it. When I purchased this truck I was in the middle of breakup and need something to focus my time and energy on. I was not interested in spending time with people; I just wanted to work on this truck.

I purchased and installed 4.89 gears in both the front and rear axles. I rebuilt the front axle entirely, replacing the $200 bushings in both ends of the axle housing, repacking, and resealing everything that didn't need to be replaced. I wasn't convinced those bushing need to be pulled, but I had already purchased the replacements and had it apart. I also rebuild the transfer case and rear axle at he same time. Most everything looked great when it came apart, which I expected on a truck with only 25,000 original miles. I can tell you that this gearing change, combined with the large Michelin tires makes a very important improvement in actual usability and drivability of the truck. If you purchase another truck and want to drive it any real mileage you will need to do this.

The gas tank was pulled and treated and sealed the POR-15 product. Much of the brake work was done by the previous owner. All four axles have new pistons, relined shoes, brake lines, and I replaced the master cylinder. The previous owner rewired the truck and installed the turn signals, brake lights, fog lights etc. He also installed the new superwinch lockout front hubs. I procured the military wheels and Michelin tires and probably paid too much for them. The original wheels and tires come with the truck. I rebuilt the carb. Had a new aluminum radiator custom fabricated, and replaced the water pump as well as the lines. I pulled the head and had it resurfaced, put a new head gasket, and new head bolts. Pulled the manifold and resealed the intake and exhaust manifold, and replaced many of the bolts. When I had the front clip apart I resealed the front cover on the motor to solve that oil leak. The previous owner installed the exhaust system and new fuel line. I had the seat professionally recovered. All the original gauges work except the fuel gauge, which is disconnected. One of the big selling features of this truck is that it has the factory 251 and synchronized transmission. This makes it easier to drive and perform better than the 230 in older units. I was trying to add up what all of this rebuilding and reconditioning cost me and stopped because I don't want to know.

This truck is not a trailer queen; it has some dents that you can see from the photos. You wouldn't want one without some character if you plan on using it at all. The under carriage is rock solid and some undercoating was sprayed on by the previous owner. There is some surface rust on the inner frame rails. All of the cross members are rock solid as is the rest of the truck. The flat bed is nice, and I fabricated a nice step for the back that you can see in the photos. As all PW's, it does leave its mark on your driveway (leaks some oil). As a proud PW owner it is important to me to represent things as accurately as possible. This truck has been inspected and is currently on the road in NY. I drive it to pick up ice cream, landscape materials, haul my motorcycle around, and grab some firewood. I welcome any phone calls; email me for the phone number. I also welcome and encourage anyone to come inspect and drive the truck prior to purchase.
