I dont disagree that you can get powder to look good. It wont look as good as a quality paint job. My experience with the race cars was overall good. It gave strength to the cage.

The way I see it Powder coating is like coating your frame or what ever with a layer of egg shell while a good quality primer and paint is like the skin on your body. Both can be damaged but the paint/skin will flex and adjust while the powder/egg shell it more rigid. Both coatings can be damaged but fixing paint is much easier then fixing powder coating.Seems like once the powder gets a crack its not protecting as well. If you got to drill holes or weld later forget it. Once you powder coat you are pretty well commited to powder coating.

Oven cleaner will take powder coat off by the way! Some of it and a rag and it will wipe off.
