As for your engine Dan, as far as I know all the Spitfire engines were installed in cars.

The Spitfire head will fit on a truck engine though, so it is possible that your truck has the original engine, but the head was swapped.

If you have a Spitfire car engine the number you need to figure out what it came from is found on a rasied pad on the drivers side of the engine. I attached a picture to this post of what a number stamped in that location looks like.
