Hi Gordon,
Good thought, I will check it while I have it all drained. The cap is a 4 pound cap, it would seem like if it was going to build up enough pressure to rupture the tank it would have popped the cork first. The temp gauge was right in the middle before and after the leak.
I got it soldered today and will get it put back together tonght.
