speedometer calibration

I have heard that there is a box that has two knobs on it, that you can hook to your tranny and then hook your cable into it. Adjust the knobs to get the speed right. He said he got it from a truck stop. Didnt know who made. Has anyone heard of one of these things. Any help would be great.
