Mark, the Manual says "Do not adjust the rod..." EXCEPT when you REPLACE the MC.
The Manual also tells you that replacing the MC requires a total brake adjustment starting at the brake shoes.
According to your posts, you have chosen to ignore the brake shoes. Their adjustment affects the wheel cylinder piston stroke which affects the MC piston stroke. Then you adjust the pedal stroke. You have to do the whole thing.
"The head bone connected to the neck bone connected to the shoulder bone..." The song is older than your truck or the Manual, but the words are true.
After you do the brakes on a WC63, 6x6 Dodge, you will believe.
