I've got a Lincoln 130, on 110. Seemed to always stutter. I blamed my unsteady hand. Or the equipment, I had bought it used. But last time I used it,I took apart the nozzle and mistakenly thought the liner would block the gas flow. So I trimmed it back ( 1/4" gap)so it misses the contact tip and things worked much better. Figured better gas flow fixed it. Then I thought about blocking the gas, no way, gas don't flow through the contact tip, but around it. So Why an improvement? The wound liner is a spiral, like a choke cable casing. Snipping it leaves an irregular end, which when jammed into the conical end of the contact tip, will force the liner off center and make the wire bind?

Anybody got a manual with liner directions? I assume they come long and need trimming? Grind the end flat too? Or leave a gap, like I did? Or both...
