After a long pursuit and lots of inquiries and questions, finally locating the correct pto and adapter for my W500, I have it installed, cable control connected, yokes in hand, and will pick up a 46 1/2" x 1" rod and have the ends keyed today. Soon the winch will be operational.
Thanks to Marty for supplying a very nice reproduction of the original bumper, and to Eric B. for turning me on to the final source for the pto/adapter, a wrecking yard in Pa. And thanks to everyone else who volunteered an answer or an opinion during this process.
