my son jason is a union rep for the machincest and areo space workers . he was called to a plant that manufature tubs > the employees wanted a 1.50 raise per hour > my son had a meeting with the owner . the owner opened the books and showed my son the companys finacial records. the owner was losing 8 dollers per tub but if the emoployees wages stayed the same he would keep the company operating till the market turned around> my son took the NO raise offer to the union reps of the plant > the reps said no way, they want the raise in pay> my son goes back to the owner and presents the unions stand the owner shows my son the same tubs he could imported made in india for half the cost and the company would be back in black ink if he sold the imported tubs. with this information my son went back to the company union reps and said the company owner is in a position to close the manufacting of the tubs > and import and sell the foriegn tubs > the company reps said raise or nothing > the owner said close the gate and tell the workers no more jobs end of story 265 jobless morons ~ J
