I just saw the the UAW accepted a pay cut for workers at the American axle plant from 27 an hour down to around 14 an hour. I agree that wages in some ways got out of control in some areas like the midwest where housing costs are extremely low but if we had protecionist import laws like all the other countires that make all our crap now higher wages would not make much difference. Of course we have done it to ourselves but the guy on the assemlby line is not making any decsions. ITs the whores on top. All the power shifted to wall street bean counters in the sixties and they have been selling us out ever since.
