The Willys wagon that I am rebuilding will have a 4BT with a T19 transmission with a Dana 18 transfer and the Warn/Saturn overdrive. I originally was going to use a SM 420 trans as it is a very good trans but the 4BT came with a T19 which has a higher first gear which is fine as this truck will be a road truck 99% of the time. As Gary said I can use the Saturn overdrive to split gears giving me a total of 20 gears. 4 Fwd 1 reverse each 4 H and 4 L and 2 H for a total of 10 gears then double that with the overdrive to get 20.
The Dana 18 will handle the 4BT without any problems.
